Frequently asked questions
Whether you're planning a house move, need storage or would like help with packing, we've answered some of the most common questions about our removal services in Manchester. If you can't find the answer you need, our team is always happy to help.
What areas do you cover?
We serve Manchester and the surrounding areas from our Trafford Park base. We also arrange moves to and from other UK locations. For overseas moves, contact us to confirm the destination and available route.
How much will my move cost?
Every house move is different. Your enquiry helps us decide whether to provide an initial estimate or arrange a survey, usually taking around 15–30 minutes. Your written quote will explain the services and any agreed additional charges.
How much notice do you require?
Give us as much notice as possible, especially for month-end and other busy dates. Contact us even if your date is not yet confirmed. Short-notice moves depend on availability.
How can I contact you?
Call 0161 238 8915, email admin@mcrremovals.co.uk or use the WhatsApp link on this site. You can also start with the online quote form; call or email to confirm a booking.
Are you insured?
Our published standard Goods in Transit cover is up to £50,000, subject to policy conditions and exclusions. Request the policy and discuss high-value items or extra cover before booking. Packing arrangements can affect what is covered.
How much parking space is needed?
Allow approximately 16–40 feet depending on the vehicle. We will confirm what your move needs. Let us know about restricted parking, loading bays and long carrying distances so we can plan access and explain any additional costs.
Professional, supervised moving crews
Our standards put punctuality, courtesy and safe handling first. An experienced foreman supervises packing, collection and delivery, with the office team available to help resolve questions during the move.
Suitable vehicles, packing materials, purpose-made furniture covers, blankets and straps help protect belongings throughout handling and transport.
Before your house move
We assess your belongings and property access through a home or video survey, then provide a written quotation explaining the services, price and terms. Your move plan should identify packing, dismantling, storage and any other agreed extras.
Read the acceptance documents and terms before confirming. Declare valuable items and discuss the cover, limits and exclusions that apply to them. Invoices and payment receipts form part of your booking paperwork.
During your move
The team follows the agreed plan, uses protective materials and handles items with care. Tell the foreman which rooms furniture and boxes should go into at the destination; clear room labels make unloading easier.
If something changes, access, keys or an item that cannot be safely moved as expected, discuss it with the team and office so the next steps and any charges are clear.
Completion checks and aftercare
Before the crew leaves, walk around the property and check furniture, non-boxed items and the outside of boxes for visible damage. Check televisions and other relevant equipment where practical and note any concerns on the completion paperwork.
If you discover a problem later, contact us promptly with photographs and details. The terms supplied with your booking explain reporting and claims procedures. Nothing in these checks or contractual procedures removes your statutory consumer rights.
Feedback and concerns
We welcome feedback about the service and use it to improve the way we plan and deliver moves. Contact the office if you are unhappy so we can investigate and explain the available resolution process.
Independent customer feedback is available through our review links. Read recent reviews and ask questions about the parts of the service that matter most to you.
