Preparing for Moving Day

Yes. We offer full packing and fragile-item packing services, depending on your requirements. Our experienced team can carefully pack your belongings using suitable packing materials, helping protect your possessions and saving you valuable time before moving day.
Can I pack my own belongings?
Absolutely. Many customers prefer to pack their own boxes. We recommend using strong, suitable moving boxes, avoiding overloading them and clearly labelling each box with its contents and destination room. Please be aware that different liability conditions apply to customer-packed belongings.
Do I need to empty drawers before moving day?
Yes. Please empty all drawers, including chests of drawers, bedside cabinets and other furniture. This reduces the weight, makes furniture safer to handle and helps prevent damage during transportation. Pack the contents securely into suitable moving boxes.
Can you dismantle and reassemble my furniture?
Yes. We can dismantle and reassemble many common furniture items, including beds, wardrobes and tables, where suitable. Please let us know during your quotation or survey so we can allocate sufficient time and equipment. Some furniture may not be suitable for dismantling or reassembly.
How should I prepare my fridge and freezer?
Please empty, defrost and clean your fridge or freezer before moving day, allowing sufficient time for it to dry. Secure any loose shelves and remove food items. Once delivered, follow the manufacturer's guidance before reconnecting the appliance. Please note, we can not take perishables from the fridge or freezer on the vehicle as not insured to take.
Do I need to disconnect my washing machine and other appliances?
Yes. Washing machines, dishwashers and other appliances should be safely disconnected, drained and ready for transportation before our team arrives. We do not undertake gas, electrical or plumbing disconnections that require a qualified tradesperson.
Do you provide wardrobe boxes and furniture protection?
Yes. We provide wardrobe boxes for hanging clothes to use during your move, along with suitable protective equipment such as mattress covers, television covers and furniture blankets. Wardrobe boxes are normally collected at the end of moving day, and charges may apply if they are retained.
Are there any items you cannot move?
For safety and insurance reasons, we cannot transport certain hazardous or prohibited items, including flammable liquids, gas cylinders, explosives and dangerous chemicals. Please contact us before moving day if you're unsure whether a particular item can be transported.
What should I keep with me on moving day?
We recommend keeping essential items with you, including house keys, important documents, medication, valuables, mobile phone chargers and anything you'll need immediately after arriving at your new property. These should be kept separate from belongings being loaded onto the removal vehicle. Pack an overnight bag for you and the family.
Will I receive any instructions to help me prepare for moving day?
Yes. Once your move is booked, we'll send you helpful emails and checklists in the lead-up to moving day, with timely reminders to help you stay organised and ensure nothing important is overlooked.
These include practical advice on packing and labelling boxes, preparing furniture and appliances, arranging suitable parking and access, and completing essential tasks before our team arrives.
Our reminders are designed to guide you through each stage of your preparation, helping to take the stress out of moving and making sure everything is ready for the big day.
If you have any questions along the way, our friendly team is always happy to help.

Will the removal team travel directly to my new property?
Once loading is complete and you've checked that everything has been collected, our removal team will normally take their lunch break before travelling to your new property.
If you're moving as part of a property chain, this also allows some time for your sale and purchase to progress while you wait for confirmation that your keys are ready.
Our team will keep in contact where necessary and arrange to meet you at your new property once access is available, so unloading can begin as smoothly as possible.
